ATTENDANCE REPORTING & UPCOMING CENSUS

At the beginning of the year, DET updated the attending policy and reporting codes, which you might notice is different in Compass.

Please ensure you are all submitting your rolls at 9:00am AND 12:00pm. Ally has been sending daily reminder emails out through compass to those who have missed a roll. Attendance reporting, though it might seem tedious, is extremely important for Child Safety as well as school funding for each child attending.

On this, as the Compass Kiosk at Reception does not change a students arrival status when they sign in late, teachers MUST change their rolls to reflect the student has arrived late to class.

Attendance data taken on the 27th of Feb and we need to ensure all data is accurate by this date.

Le Journal has a section on school attendance for families and the importance of reporting ANY school absence including illness and family holidays. If you are aware of a child that in consistently late, absent or on an extended family holiday, please encourage families to enter these on Compass to ensure we have no Unexplained Attendance and let Leadership or Ally know so we can contact the families.

COMMUNICATION

A reminder to staff to please let Reception know when you have organised for someone to come to the school to collect items, visit students, or have made phone calls and are expecting a return call.

As all visitors are to sign in at Reception, we will know prior to them arriving why they are here and how we can best assist them.

If calling families, please leave a voicemail so return calls can be forwarded to you, or a message can be taken for you.

Reminder - Student Roster for Le Jardin

There has been some confusion regarding whether we are still enforcing the roster for which days different year levels can play in Le Jardin and the answer is YES!!

Could all Senior Campus teachers please remind students of the following arrangement for playing in Le Jardin:

Foundation & Year 1: Every day

Year 2: Monday, Wednesday & Friday

Year 3: Tuesday & Thursday

Year 4: Monday, Wednesday & Friday

Year 5: Tuesday & Thursday

Year 6: Tuesday & Thursday

If you are crossing the road for a yard duty in Le Jardin please make sure that you are only taking students from the correct year levels across with you.  This helps with ensuring access to the play area without things becoming too busy and dangerous.

Yard Duty Timetable - Use of JC Tennis Courts

To reduce congestion on the Senior Campus during lunch and recess, each year level will use the Junior Campus tennis courts next week. Once access to the Senior Campus tennis courts resumes, play spaces will be less crowded and we will return to our usual areas. We might have to timetable year levels to certain spaces to ensure they are all used.

Each year level has been allocated a specific day in Week 4 to use the JC Tennis Courts.

Please ensure your students:

  • know which day they will cross to the JC tennis courts
  • are pre-taught the expected behaviours:
    • line up calmly and orderly at the Reserve Rd gate
    • cross Reserve Rd in a calm and orderly manner
    • walk to the Junior gate via Le Jardin
    • move directly onto the JC tennis courts
    • use the Junior Campus toilets respectfully
    • play kindly with everyone, take extra care with younger students and check on others if someone is hurt

Please refer to the yard duty timetable for details of staff supervision at the JC tennis courts.

Week 4Year Level on JC Tennis Courts
 Monday 16.02Year 6
Tuesday 17.02Year 4
Wednesday 18.02Year 2
Thursday 19.02Year 5

We will send an update as soon as we have more information regarding our access to the SC Tennis Courts.

Year level folders in Senior campus library

Just a reminder to nominate one person per year level to check/collect your year level folders from the SC office by Tuesday each week and distribute to your year level teachers.

Any information, post, new action plans etc will be placed in these folders. These folders have replaced the old staff pigeonholes.

Thanks

Jackie
