Eureka Division Swimming Wrap Up
On Thursday the 19th of February students from grades 4/5/6 took part in the Eureka division interschool swimming competition held at the Aquatic centre. Students competed in a range of individual events across all age groups with the 12/13 year old boys, 11 year old girls and 9/10 year old girls also participating in the relays as well. All students showed great sportsmanship and put in maximum effort in all of their races and should be very proud of their efforts.
Some highlights for the day include Ted Gladman, Lachie Tehan and Matilda Knight making it to the next level for Breast stroke in their age groups which will see them compete in Horsham in late March at the Greater Western Region swimming meet. Also special mention to the relay teams who competed hard and showed great team work. The 9/10 year old girls relay team Matilda Knight, Abigail Schmidt, Isabel Schmidt and Charlotte Hills finished 2nd which will see them also move through to the Great Western Region swimming meet as well.
Extra special thank you to the parents who were present throughout the day. Your help with marshalling, organising students, keeping track of events and general feedback and advice was greatly appreciated and helped the day run very smoothly.
Well done everyone and good luck to the students competing in next month's regionals!
Thanks Mr Valentine
