The front door to the Yaluk building foyer is still waiting for an appropriate repair solution. Please use other doors for exit/entry.
All the double doors with a "push to open" button in the Yaluk building also have an emergency over-ride button (see photo 1).
Some students are curious about how these work and test them. The doors will unlock. The emergency over-ride indicator is then red. (see photo 2).
The doors will not re-lock until the override button is re-set using a special plastic key. There is one clear plastic key in the Meeting & Assessment Room 3 for general use. Through the magic of 3D printing, Loc has printed some red keys that have been distributed to classrooms in Yaluk Building. Hopefully, these keys will be more accessible to staff in the building.
Admin Carpark (Crn Lichfield Ave and Landy Rd)
This car park is for student drop-offs, deliveries, short term school visitors and some authorised staff. Please park in the general staff carpark or on the street unless you have permission to park in the admin carpark.
Gates around the school
Can staff please be aware of students and how they move through and use the gates around the school? The magnetic lock gates are being damaged by students who are pushing through the gate before they have been unlocked with a fob. If you are having an issue with a gate and students, please talk to your sub school leader and ask them to discuss the issue with me if needed.
Air conditionerscan staff please make sure AC units are turned off in classrooms and meeting spaces at the end of the day. TURN OFF the AC units in the OT room and climbing room as you leave at the end of each session.
Facilities job requests and notifications:
Log any jobs for Maintenance on SharePoint. When logging jobs please provide the exact location of the door, window etc this will allow Jacob to repair the item even if there is no staff member in the room. Logging the item in detail will enable Jacob and I to schedule the works and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
Big Bin
The big bin move has been deferred. DO NOT place items around the bin. If items do not fit in the bin take them back to your classroom and advise me and I will organise for it to be emptied. The bin is emptied every Wednesday morning before school commences.
Workplace inspections & reporting items
If you have a maintenance issue in your office or room these should be reported in the Maintenance log immediately. DO NOT wait until the end of term to report these issues as many need to be rectified as quickly as possible to avoid incidents.
