Primary Sub School News

Hello everyone - we have finally arrived at Week 8 and almost at the end of Term 3!

Transitions

As we move towards the end of the school year, our students are working hard to become increasingly independent.  Therefore, please could I ask that the visuals I gave out (classroom and walking) are used to support our students during transitions as needed, especially between the buses and classrooms.  They offer a visual prompt accompanied by processing time and help our students to be less reliant on a physical prompt.

Yearbooks

Please could you ensure that your blurb has been completed and then uploaded to the T drive by 13.09.24.

IEPs

The goals for Semester 2 IEPs need to be finalised by the end of this term. If you have any questions about writing your students' goals, please don't hesitate to reach out.

CTM 

Please ensure that your CTM minutes are populated with students' learning goals ready for discussion at your meeting.  If you'd like me to act as a norm monitor, timekeeper, or note-taker, just let me know.  Additionally, think about how you can use your CTMs in Semester 2 to collaborate on updating Student Profiles and discussing progress towards IEP goals.

Production - Week 8

• Book the Yaluk building for rehearsal time with your students
• Continue to practice your production item. Continue working on your backdrop and/or props.
• Practise performing in your costumes
• Practise using props
• Add a follow-up rehearsal and performance date sticker to students Communication books
• Talk to you students about the dress rehearsal - what it will look like, sound like, feel like

CTM

Please can I ask that your CTM has been populated with students' learning goals ready to discuss at your meeting.   If you would like me to be norm monitor/timekeeper/note taker, please let me know.  Please consider how you can utilise your CTMs during Semester 2 to work collaboratively to update your Student Profiles as well as discussing progress towards IEP goals.

Excursions

Heading into this term we have excursions taking place as well as Kinder Gym - please ensure you remain on top of the excursion to do list ahead of time.  Be sure permission has been given by parents, the activity locator lodged and transport as well as staffing considered.  I urge you to touch base with both myself and the admin staff in the weeks leading up to the excursion to ensure you have a second set of eyes over documentation, and a sounding board to assist in planning and coordination of the excursion.

Term 3 Assemblies

Please note: if the CLH is unavailable, the assembly will be held by the room for that week in their own classroom and shared through Webex.  If you choose to hold your assembly from your classroom, please send a Webex link by Wednesday of that week.  You will also need to ask a staff member to host from the CLH if available.  I would recommend assigning team members as 'Co-hosts' in case of IT issues.
