Middle School Inquiry 

Students in years 3/4 have been investigating how animals are classified according to their characteristics such as body coverings, the presence or absence of a backbone and other physical traits. 

To consolidate their understandings students had great fun playing the 'Secret Game Show'.  They worked in pairs to thoroughly research a creature,  identifying all its distinguishing features to answer yes/no questions about it. 

The rest of the class brainstormed a series of questions to try to figure out their secret creature using the classification key and applying their knowledge.  Congratulations to Zahara who guessed an axolotyl in under 40 seconds!
