I have Book Week news to share! I am in awe of our wonderful students this week and thank you for sharing your children with us. The Book Week parade was a highlight today and it was wonderful to see so many parents join us for this celebration. Book Week is a national celebration of the love of reading and brings our community together. It was also thrilling to see the support of our Year Twelve students at the parade. Miss Nichols and her class really set a wonderful standard bringing Shaun Tan’s Red Tree to life. Fantastic!

The Book Fair has one day to go, and I will close the Fair at 3.40pm instead of lunchtime on Friday 23 August.

Thank you so much to the families who have supported our Fair. I am extremely grateful to Paperbark Merchants for the ease with which they make this possible, their true love of all things reading, and the beautiful calibre of books on sale. Those families that have made purchases at the Fair have a small ticket with a number on it. This is a ticket in the draw to win a book a book prize. This will be drawn on Monday and be in next week’s Anchor

Huge congratulations to the Primary school on their amazing door displays. Mrs Franklin found it so hard to judge this as they were all so fabulous!

Congratulations to the winners, Mrs Gouldthorp’s Year One Class and their Bowerbird Bird display.

Runner up is the Year Four class of Ms Laneaux-Neale.

Special mention to the beautiful words of Miss Nichols and Ms Truscott’s Year Six class. Their words are very moving. Mrs Franklin will elaborate on those further.

The Golden Leaves have been another big hit this year and lunchtimes are super busy as the students race to find a golden leaf and claim the sweet prize.   Our Library has been transformed for Book Week, thank you to our Library Technician, Mrs Michelle Hassell for all her work behind the scenes
