From the Principal
Women in Farming
I write to you from the Women in Farming 2024 annual seminar; Embracing the Journey in Kulin.
Women in Farming is a member-based organisation with branches around the State and GSG is proud to be a sponsor of the annual seminar.
Women in Farming supports members to improve the efficiency, resilience and profitability of their agriculture businesses.
The organisation is not an advocacy group, rather, it is an intentionally growth focused network that builds the capability of women leading and managing their family businesses. Branches provide the vehicle for women to support one another through informal and social gatherings, meetings, seminars and collaboration projects.
The number of branches continue to grow and this week, the new branch of Tammin was formed.
I would like to thank President, Courtney Wilson and Board members including parent Mrs Peta Hubbard for their warm welcome and opportunity to attend the annual seminar this year. Along with Mrs Julia Bairstow and Mrs Di Franzinelli, it was great to connect with present and past parents and community members.

Farewell
The GSG community is saddened to learn of the passing of former Head of English, Ms Penny Leiper. Penny passed away peacefully surrounded by her family over the weekend after a long illness. A celebration of Penny's life will take place in Albany in the coming weeks and we will share the date for this when it is available. Penny's funeral will be held in Perth at Saint David's Anglican Church in Ardross on Friday 30 August at 2.30pm. Our prayers of comfort are with husband Mark, and daughters Issy and Lucy at this difficult time.
