Prayers in Pyjamas
Yesterday evening, our Preps, their teachers, and parents took part in Prayer in Pyjamas, a unique event for our new SJV students to demonstrate the nature and purpose of prayer to their family members. Each family took turns participating in one of four activities: meditation/massage, reading together, making prayer bears, or making their part of a class prayer mat with a depiction of their family. Thank you to the families who shared this special time with their children. It was lovely to welcome families to our community and share this experience. The Preps took a 'prayer bear' home with a special prayer attached to it to remind them of the importance of prayer.
Miraculous Medals
At a beautiful celebration of Mass on August 15th, The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the students were all presented with Miraculous Medals by Fr. Justin. He explained to the children that this medal was made after Our Lady's appearance and instructions to St. Catherine Laboure in Paris, in 1830. The medals and the cards have both been blessed by Fr. Justin.
