LOTE (Mandarin)

Exploring Colours and Chinese Cuisine!

Nihao Everyone,

This week in our Mandarin lessons, both our junior and senior students have been busy exploring new and exciting aspects of Chinese language and culture!

Junior Students: Learning Colours in Mandarin Our junior students had a fun and interactive week as they learned how to say colours in Mandarin. From "红色" (hóng sè - red) to "蓝色" (lán sè - blue), the children engaged in games, songs, and hands-on activities that helped them connect the colours they see every day to their Mandarin vocabulary. Their enthusiasm was contagious as they confidently practiced saying their favourite colours in Chinese!

Senior Students: Chinese Menu Creations Meanwhile, our senior students were thrilled to receive their completed Chinese menu projects! After weeks of hard work, they were able to see the fruits of their labour. Translating dishes, learning about Chinese food culture, and carefully designing their menus, the students truly embraced the creative process. It was wonderful to see them take pride in their creations, and their efforts really shone through!

We’re so proud of all the hard work our students put into their lessons this week. Learning Mandarin is not just about language; it's also about understanding the culture and making connections through creativity. Keep up the great work, everyone!
