Wellbeing update
Buddies and Mates
At Dana Street we pride ourselves on the wonderful Wellbeing that is happening in our classrooms, and within all learning and play spaces. All units plan lessons that revolve around our School Wide Positive Behaviour Matrix (SWPBS) and include our School Values. Our values are the following;
Respect and Care, Excellence, Responsibility and Inclusion, Tolerance and Understanding. These, as well as the SWPBS are in every classroom and specialist area for all students and families to see.
Buddies and Mates continues to be a highlight of every fortnight. The students work with their Buddy Class on activities that promote teamwork, care, kindness and fun.
The Foundation students and the Grade Six students got together last week to dance to the Nutbush, The Macarena and the Cha-Cha Slide. There were some hot and excited students after this engaging session.
Morning Circle
Each day begins with our Morning Circle which is consistent across the whole school. The students are engaged in building their classroom goals for the day, sharing any special announcements, short sharp activities to get the brain and body ready for learning and reviewing the daily schedule. Below is the poster that the students and staff follow for our Morning Circle.
