RESIDENTIAL

Wow, what a week! I have been lucky enough to be keeping Bernie’s seat warm this week, which has been great spending time with the students in the daytime hours and becoming part of their daily schedule, as well as having more time getting to know the Day students. 

Weekend Activities

Last weekend, we were lucky to have amazing weather and it sounded like Kryssie Strand and Rob Hodgson hosted a great weekend. 

Friday started with the obligatory trip to Eaton Fair. 

Saturday was a fabulous day out, with Kryssie taking a group of students down south for the day. They started with a visit to the Margaret River Chocolate Company for some delicious tastings. They headed to a Dunsborough op shop and Yallingup Beach for lunch. Then onto Simmos for ice cream and another stopover at an op shop in Busselton, before heading back to the College.

Saturday night, students made their own pizzas that Rob cooked for them in the pizza oven. This was followed by some enthusiastic karaoke around the fire pit and the students all made s'mores for dessert. To finish off the evening, they lit a bonfire near Equine.

Sunday was a more relaxing day onsite with a quick trip into Harvey and enjoying some downtime before the week ahead.

Weekday Activities

This week, the students have been kept busy with 

• Very creative art class with Mel.
• Exciting netball finals.
• Talking Circle with Kryssie involving Stirling dorm.
• Maths darts.
• Year 12 cooking with Mel.
• Pool competition has continued with Bill.
• CBH grain sample training with Nicole. 

Of course, this is all secondary to the Ball preparations!! 

Dockers vs Geelong AFL 

This coming weekend, we have been extremely lucky to have tickets donated to the Dockers vs Geelong AFL match. We have a wonderful parent who has arranged this for us for a few years running. The tickets were donated by the Dockers players and we are very grateful to be able to offer this activity.

However, a large number of students who signed up to attend have dropped out this week. It is so disappointing that we have an ongoing issue with student commitment to weekend excursions. To be able to continue to offer these fabulous activities, we would hope to receive parent support in encouraging your child to be organised and committed, stay in where possible and enjoy some memorable days out with their peers!
