Hi, I'm Emma the School Chaplain representing YouthCare.

I thought I'd take this opportunity to remind our families that Harvey Agricultural College, staff, students, and families have access to chaplaincy throughout their time at the College.

As School Chaplain, I strive to provide essential social, emotional, and mental health support in a confidential and nonjudgmental manner. With a background in Social Science and counselling experience within the disability sector, my chaplaincy role forms an important part of the support we offer our school community, which may be facing challenging personal or social issues irrespective of faith or cultural background.

My role forms an integral part of the student service team;

  • Providing holistic care and support for staff, students, and families.
  • Linking schools with local community, support agencies and organisations.
  • Offering referrals to external services.
  • Playing an active role in assisting and supporting school events.
  • Facilitating support programs and resources.
  • Supporting, mentoring, encouraging and empowering the school community.

Over the last two terms, I have enjoyed getting to know the students and staff. I enjoy moving around the school to the various spaces, including spending time after school hours in residential.

Students are welcome to chat without a formal appointment depending on what they're experiencing that day but for those who require further support, please call the front office to arrange a referral for your child.

Thank you to the students and staff for such a warm welcome to the College.
