Reading is Magic!
We had a wonderful time last week celebrating Book Week with lots of reading activities and our wonderful dress-up day on Monday, all centred on the 2024 theme Reading is Magic. The 'parade' was a great success on Monday morning, and we'd like to thank all the many family members who came to cheer on the students. Thank you also to the adults who stayed to read picture books to students following the parade, and thank you to all of the parents and caregivers who worked so hard to help students with their costumes at home- they were spectacular! If you missed the parade, do not despair; I'm sure you'll find our child featured in the bank of photos below. 😊✨
Congratulations to our Parade winners for the best costumes, voted by our SRC executives:
Jess's Reception class: Rosa and Annabelle
Kelly's Reception class: Ivy and Sage
Jaya's Year 1 class: Mason and Thelma
Sam's Year 2 class: Lincoln F and Zadie
Stephen's Year 3 class: Elsie and Fletcher
Alex' Year 4/5 class: Imogen and Brody
Salie's Year 5/6 class: Kyle and Sophie
We'd all like to thank Corinne for all of the work behind the scenes to prepare for Book Week in the library with beautiful displays, special books, a treasure hunt around the school and a Guess the Number of Books competition. Thank you also Sallie and Sam who organised the cross-age Book Week activities.
We love that our students embrace the magic of reading! 🙌
Kindness
We are continuing our focus on kindness this term with an attempt to fill each other's buckets. 'Bucket-filling' refers to the concept that we all have an imaginary bucket that others can either fill through acts of kindness, or empty by being unkind. We have a giant bucket and jug ready to start filling in the main building. This week, students, staff and families will add Post-It notes telling us about their acts of kindness. Please come and add one or two of your own! 😊
2024 Parent and Caregiver survey
The annual parent survey is underway and closes on Sunday 8 September.
This survey aims to get your views on:
- what we’re doing well
- where we can improve
- what’s important to you as a parent/caregiver.
Your answers won't identify you or your child, and only collated feedback is provided to our school. You should have already received a link to the survey via email or SMS. Reminder emails are currently being sent to you unless you have completed a survey or have unsubscribed.
We'd really appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey, since this gives us valuable information for our school and helps us to set goals for the future. If you cannot find the previously sent link, you can go to:

Staff vs Students Basketball fun today!
Have a wonderful fortnight everyone, and Happy Spring! 🌷
