Book Week

Book Week is a wonderful time to celebrate books and reading.

Reading really is magical - it can take you to other worlds, explore new ideas and help you understand different people - how magic is that!

It was fantastic to share our Book Week Parade with families this year. The students and family members have created some very thoughtful costumes. Thank you to everyone involved in supporting the students to participate and enjoy the day.

The student leaders and roadies did a wonderful job hosting the assembly and it was fun watching our resource centre and specialist staff share their performance from the book ‘That Bird has Arms’.

A special thank you to our performing arts teacher, Lisa Woods, for choreographing and teaching our students her song and dance ‘Make Magic and Read.’

The Leadership team would like to extend a huge thank you to Sonia Howard and the resource centre team for all the work they do in making Book Week a magical experience for our students. Last but not least! Thank you to our amazing staff and school community for their efforts to make our dress-up parade so colourful and exciting.

Misty’s Magical Book of Discovery

On Tuesday, 20 August, all of our students were treated to an interactive performance written specifically around the Book Week 2024 theme of 'Reading is Magic.'

The performance included comedy, storytelling and magic trickery and informed students about the 'Behind the Scenes' of the performing arts world. Some of our students also had the opportunity to audition and become part of the show.
