Year 7
Assistant Principal's Report
With students having received their term 3 reports last week, completed a report reflection and had the opportunity to discuss results with their parents/carers and teachers at our Parent Student Teacher Conferences this week, it has been a good opportunity for our year 7’s to reflect on their results, take in feedback and make proactive plans so that they can build upon the results and finish the year in term 4 knowing they have tried their absolute best.
With only one term to go in their first year at Wyndham Central College, it has been great to see the growth of the cohort since they began as fresh faces at the start of the year. Term 4 will be full of challenges and opportunities for our year 7 students which I am sure they are ready for.
With the weather expected to be warmer next term, students will again start wearing their summer uniform. For students who need assistance with the correct uniform, please ask your child to speak to their tutor teacher or a member of student services.
I look forward to continuing to work with your children this year to enhance their educational opportunities and help them become the best they can be.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 7
Term 3 has been marked by a strong sense of community, participation in key events, and preparation for the academic challenges ahead. The students have shown growth both academically and socially, setting a strong foundation as they look at preparing for their upcoming exams and transition into Year 8 in Term 4.
Multicultural Week – Year 7 students embraced the opportunity to celebrate the diversity within our school community. They participated in various cultural activities, showcasing their heritage and learning about different cultures. The engagement from students was commendable, and it was wonderful to see them appreciating and respecting the wide variety of traditions and backgrounds.
Science Week – Our involvement in Science Week saw enthusiastic participation in activities designed to spark curiosity and focus of the theme of Species Survival - More than just sustainability. Students took part in research, creation of projects and presentation of projects. The level of engagement was high, and many students demonstrated a keen interest in the sciences, which is an encouraging sign for their future academic pursuits.
Book Week – Book Week was another highlight of the term, with students participating in themed activities aimed at promoting a love for reading. The Year 7 cohort took part in challenges, and creative writing workshops with World Renowned author AJ Betts. This event helped foster literacy skills and encouraged students to explore new genres and authors.
Assemblies – Towards the end of term, Year 7 students were actively involved in running Year 7 assemblies. This responsibility allowed them to develop leadership, public speaking, and organizational skills. They demonstrated confidence and maturity, taking on these roles with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Term 3 has been a vibrant and successful period for our Year 7 students. Their participation in key events like Multicultural Week, Science Week, and Book Week has enriched their school experience, while their involvement in assemblies has developed essential leadership skills. With a strong foundation of academic preparation and personal growth, I am confident that they will be ready to excel in Term 4 as they are preparing for their exams and embrace the challenges of Year 8.
I look forward to continuing this positive momentum into the next term.
