Music / PA
This term has been an exciting journey for everyone in our school community, from students to teachers and beyond. The highlight has been the upcoming concert production, where the hard work and dedication of all involved are finally coming to fruition. With just one week to go before the big night, the anticipation is palpable, and we can’t wait to see everything come together!
Throughout the term, students across all grades—from Foundation to Year 5/6—have engaged in a wide range of learning experiences. From exploring body movement and creating choreographies to delving into the rich cultures of Spanish-speaking countries, the learning has been both dynamic and rewarding. This exploration has not only enriched their understanding of music, dance, and costume but has also helped them build confidence in presenting and performing in front of various audiences.
Foundation & 1/2s
Students in Foundation to Year 1/2 have been particularly focused on refining their body movements and becoming more aware of their personal space, ensuring that everyone can dance safely and freely. These activities have been crucial in helping our younger students develop coordination, spatial awareness, and teamwork, all while having fun and expressing themselves creatively.
Years 3/4 & 5/6
Meanwhile, students in Years 3/4 and 5/6 have taken their learning a step further by deepening their understanding of choreography and the cultural significance of dance and music in Spanish-speaking countries. They have been practising not only the steps and rhythms but also learning about the history and traditions that make these art forms so special. This has been an incredible opportunity for them to broaden their global awareness and appreciate the diversity of cultures around the world.
In addition to these artistic endeavours, students have been working on their public speaking and performance skills, building the confidence needed to shine on stage. Whether it's performing a dance, delivering lines in a play, or simply standing in front of an audience, our students have shown remarkable growth in their ability to present themselves with poise and enthusiasm.
Overall, this term has been a vibrant and enriching time for our students. As we approach the concert night, we are filled with pride in what they have achieved and are eager to share their hard work with the whole community.
