Week 2024! Reading is Magic!

Book Week is next week and we have lots of great activities and events planned to celebrate. The winners of the Children’s Book Council of Australia awards will be announced at 12pm (noon) AEST this Friday. Check out the CBCA website & socials for details.

Book Week Assembly (Friday 23 August)

Parents and Caregivers are warmly invited to our Book Week Assembly on Friday 23 August. This special Assembly will be held on Barton Reserve (weather permitting) and will include the Book Character dress up parade. The Assembly starts at 9am and you can grab a coffee from the onsite coffee van beforehand. PLEASE BYO CHAIRS. We would love parents and siblings dressed up as their favourite book characters to join our parade!

Book Character Dress Up Day (Friday 23 August)

Children are invited to dress up as their favourite book character for our dress up day on Friday 23 August. Please bring the book that the character is based on. Please note this is not a casual day and children should wear their school uniform if not dressing up. Parents and siblings are encouraged to dress up too and join us for our Book Week Assembly and parade.

Book Swap (Thursday 22 August) 

On Thursday 22 August the library will host a Book Swap. The Book Swap is a great opportunity for children to exchange a book they no longer need from home for something new (to them). To participate in the Book Swap, children need to bring along a book from home to swap. Children can bring their book for swapping to the Library and they will be given a ticket (on the Thursday of Book Week) that allows them into the Book Swap. Children can bring their books for Book Swap to the library now.
