Foundation: Blue-Bots
The Foundation students have been experimenting with programmable devices - our Blue-Bots! They have been using directional language and code to progam their Blue-Bots to follow directions and move in an intended manner.
Year 1/2: Scratch Jr
We have been focusing on coding this term with the Year 1/2 students. They have been learning how to code using a block-based programming language to create their own interactive stories and games. Students have been using the Scratch Jr app on the iPads to code. They have used sequences of programming blocks to make their characters move, interact and even sing!
Year 3/4: Minecraft Education
This term Year 3/4 students have been exploring game based learning by being introduced to Minecraft Education. Students have learnt about the basics of Minecraft and explored movement within the game such as learning the process for placing and breaking blocks. Many of the students are well-versed in Minecraft and have been helping their peers (and teachers!). The students are currently working on their project in which they have to design and create a liveable environment on a desert island!
Students have enjoyed being able to show their creativity and imagination!
Year 5/6: Augmented Reality
The Year 5/6 students have been learning about Augmented Reality (AR). AR allows computer-generated information and virtual objects to be overlayed on physical objects in real time. Students were tasked with researching, planning and designing an AR sculpture for the Art Show. Students had to follow a design brief and use an app called Reality Composer to create their sculptures and bring them to life!
Be sure to check out their AR artworks at the Art Show!
