Principals Message
Dear families,
It is hard to believe that we are already into Week Eight of our Ten week term. This week has presented some really wild weather with Monday also seeing us lose power, internet and even phone reception (for a short time) as a result. Despite this, we were still able to operate and attend day one of our swimming program.
Swimming Program
Our 2024 swimming program kicked off on Monday and will continue through until the end of the week. Our whole school will attend Aquamoves in Shepparton for 5 sessions focusing on core skills of swimming, water safety and awareness. These are fundamental sessions and our students absolutely love the sessions.
Father’s Day
Last Friday, we saw lots of Dads, Uncles and Grandfathers attend our school for our Father’s Day breakfast. It was great to see lots of the Dads and even meet some of you for the first time. We really appreciate that people had to change schedules for the day to attend and I also especially thank our volunteers for cooking and organising.
Transition Day
Last Friday was our first official transition day for our prospective 2025 enrolments. It was great to see many of the students interact within our classrooms, showcasing their zest for learning and development. We still have several more opportunities for these students to attend during Term 4 to help prepare them for the rigour and routines of school. The remaining transition dates are:
- Friday 11 October: 8:50am - 11:35am - (This session has an information session included)
- Friday 25 October: 8:50am - 11:35am
- Friday 8 November: 8:50am - 11:35am
- Friday 22 November: 8:50am - 11:35am
- Friday 6 December: 8:50am - 11:35am
- Tuesday 10 December - Statewide Transition Day: 8:50am - 1:35pm
3/4 Camp
Last week, I attended the site for our Year 3/4 camp which we share with the Year 3/4 students from St Joseph’s Nagambie. We are finalising the program at the moment and will have all the details for families very soon.
What an amazing opportunity for our students.
Attendance
As you know, our school strives for 95% attendance for all of our students. If a child misses just 10 minutes of school per day, that equates to nearly 6 days per year. Through SIMON Everywhere, we have set up monthly reminder percentages to be generated and sent to families to enable you to monitor your child's attendance.
In my experience, families often do not realise how much their children have missed unless it is continually monitored.
Thank you everyone and please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.
