Robotics Incursion - August 13th to August 15th
We have been so lucky this week to celebrate Science Week with a visit from Peter from Robokids. National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of Science and Technology. It runs each year in August, and features more than 1000 events, including those delivered by universities, schools, research institutions, libraries, museums and science centres. It is a way to bring attention to how important Science is to all areas of our lives. It was wonderful to watch Peter incorporate the themes running through the Science curriculum here at Toolamba into his teaching this week. Students were engaged, excited and motivated to participate and learn about the different robots Peter brought with him, and what they are capable of doing, not only in the classroom but out in the real world. Please make sure you have a chat with your child/ren about their experience in the Robokids program this week. After how wonderful our experience has been, the school is investigating the possibility of purchasing some robots of our own to continue our learning journey. How exciting would that be!
