Dear BMGS Community,
As we near the end of Week 6, there’s much to celebrate across our school community.
Firstly, a huge congratulations to our Year 12 students who have just completed their Trial HSC exams. With that milestone behind them, many are now focused on completing and submitting their HSC major works. The dedication and hard work they’ve shown will no doubt be reflected in these impressive final projects.
Year 11 had the privilege of listening to an inspiring talk by John Maclean, who shared his incredible story of overcoming challenges to become a Paralympic competitor. His journey was a true testament to resilience and determination. A special thank you to Tommy Wooldridge's family for organising such a fabulous and uplifting presentation for our students.
Last Friday, the school turned blue for Jeans for Genes Day, and Kelley House led the way in raising a significant amount of money for a very worthwhile cause. The support shown by the whole community was heart warming, and it's wonderful to see everyone come together for such an important initiative.
The Whole School Music Concert last Friday night was nothing short of spectacular! The talent, dedication, and passion displayed by our students made for an unforgettable evening of music. A massive thank you to everyone involved, from the performers to the organisers, for producing such a memorable night.
In sports news, last weekend’s finals were thrilling! A special mention goes to our Inter A Netball team, who secured a win against SACS in a hard-fought match. Thank you to Mrs. Harris, our MICs, and coaches for guiding the teams through a fantastic winter season.
Finally, a huge congratulations to Sophia Huckel, who won the State Public Speaking Final in the Legislative Council Chamber today. What an outstanding achievement!
It has been an exciting and successful fortnight, and we are proud of all the accomplishments across academics, sports, and the arts. Let’s keep this momentum going as we continue through the term!
