Students of the Month – November

 

At Belmont High School we celebrate our students who display excellent learning behaviours with a regular “Student of the Month” award. There is one Student of the Month per year level, twice per term. Student reports will be used to create a shortlist for teachers to consider against the below criteria:

  • Student shows exceptional application in class and overall effort towards their studies.
  • Student has a positive attitude towards learning, their classes and the school.
  • Student is always ready to learn by being in correct uniform, having all required materials and rarely needs to leave class.
  • Student may show some leadership qualities in the classroom.
  • Student’s academic performance is very good OR they have shown great growth in this area over time.

The end of year activities program will begin next week. Students have the opportunity to attend Adventure Park on Thursday 12th December and then our school picnic on Friday 13th December. The last week will be filled by a range of activities led by teachers from across the school’s learning areas

 

Grade 6 to Year 7 transition 

We look forward to next Tuesday when we welcome grade 6 students who will be joining us in 2025 as year 7’s at the school as part of the transition program.  Thank you to Ms Amie Reusch and Ms Meagan McAlpine who organised the program, and to our year 9 buddy students who will be helping during the day.   

 

VCE Results 

Year 12 students will receive their VCE results and VCAL certificates on Thursday 11th December.  Our careers team will be available all week at school to discuss and help with changes of preferences for tertiary study. Good luck to all the students with your results. 

 

Awards Evening

On Tuesday 17th December, we will be holding our annual Student Award Ceremony. This year, the event will be held in the Gym at Belmont High School and will commence at 6.00pm. 

 

A Compass event has been published for students receiving an award or playing in a band.  Further information will be forthcoming next week. Year 12’s who will be receiving subject awards will be notified by phone once VCE results have been released.  Families of students receiving an award will need to book to attend – see details on the Event.

STUDENTS NOT ATTENDING BELMONT HIGH SCHOOL IN 2024

Could parents of 2024 Year 7 to Year 11 students who will NOT be attending Belmont High School in 2025, please notify the school as soon as possible. This information will help the school in planning for 2025.

 

Return to School Dates 2025

Just to inform parents/guardians in advance that the 2025 school year will commence with a student staggered start as follows: 

 

Thurs 23rd & Fri 24th January - OFFICE OPEN (10:00am – 2:00pm)

 

Tuesday 28th January - Teachers return to school (Student Free Day) 

 

Wednesday 29th January – First day for all new Year 7 students, Year 11 and all 12 students (as well as year 10 students undertaking a year 11 subject). 

 

Thursday 30th January - First day for all other students.
