From The Principal Team

Hi BPS families,

Welcome back to our Year 3 students who went on their first school camp last week to Camp Oasis. The students and staff had a wonderful night away, enjoying a range of activities, time together and even a disco party. Thank you to the team of parent helpers who joined our campers and assisted, your help is greatly appreciated.

Earlier this month, the Department of Education released the School Performance Report for 2024.  We are pleased to share with our school community that Beaumaris Primary School achieved the performance grouping - ‘High’. This showcases Beaumaris Primary’s achievements in Learning and Wellbeing against not only State measures, but also comparing BPS against Similar Schools. This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our staff alongside the persistence, responsibility, and determination of our students. We are extremely pleased with this result and look forward to continuing to build on this achievement in 2025 and into the future.

Our teachers have been hard at work creating 2025 classes for our students. As you can appreciate, this is a complex puzzle with many important considerations around each and every child. We trust and appreciate the immense amount of thought, time and effort our teachers put into this task. We have brilliant teachers here at Beaumaris Primary, and all of our students will continue to have a brilliant teacher to care and nurture their learning and growth in 2025.

The Statewide transition day, Tuesday 10th December, is when our 2025 Meet the Teacher session will take place. This will run from 9-12:50pm. During this time, our students will meet their 2025 class members and class teacher, engaging in a number of activities together. After lunch, our students will return to their current class and teacher.

If your child will be leaving our school in 2025, please email us at the office, beaumaris.ps@education.vic.gov.au, to let us know of your intentions. This is extremely helpful with forward planning. Thank you.

Thank you for your responses to our recent survey regarding private music lessons held at our school. Based on feedback, in 2025 we will continue to offer this option for families but it will be through just one music provider, not two - Poco Music. If you choose to sign your child up for music lessons through Poco Music, music lessons will run during both school and after school time, and we will share details on how to do so in readiness for 2025 when they're available from Poco Music.

The JSC's recent Cake Baking Competition event raised a wonderful $780! The money raised will be donated towards both State Schools' Relief and our World Vision Sponsor Child, Fikrey. Our judges (Miss Palermo, Miss Kearton and Miss Cowie) had a tough decision on their hands. The winners were announced at our assembly and all participating students were celebrated for their incredible efforts. Congratulations to our winners below. Thank you again for supporting so many of our students to get involved and join in the fun! Thank you to Mrs Samantha Robinson for overseeing this event.
