What has happened in Performing Arts? 

We have had a very busy October in Performing Arts.

 

Foundation

The students were involved in creating musical ideas with Music that Tells a Story. 

Year 1

Year 1 has been learning about Expressive Dance through Dance That Tells a story.

Year 2

Year 2’s have been learning about traditional Folk Dance with dancing such as Emus and Kangaroos .

Year 3

Year 3 has been exploring Dance That Tells a Story and have been practising The Carnival Ballet.    

          

Year 4 

Year 4 has been exploring investigating Music From Different Lands. They have been investigating music from Japan and Indonesia. 

Year 5

Year 5 have been exploring Jazz Composition and Jazz Arrangement. They have been playing Freeform Jazz music such as Twinkle Twinkle Rhythm Star in groups with a variety of instruments and dance steps. 

 

Year 6

Year 6 explored Graphic Notation by using symbols to express the classical music piece The Russian Dance. 

Glee Club this Term 

This term, the major Glee Club events will be:

  • Bayside Dance Off (early December)
  • Christmas Carols at Dendy Park (early December)

Note that further details will be sent out when they become available.

 

Other Glee Club events still to be confirmed include Christmas Carols at Black Rock House and Assembly Performances.
