Updates from Miss Maree

Dear Families,

What a fabulous weekend we had last week celebrating our amazing student's art work. A huge congratulations to Mel our super talented teacher who brings out the creativity and individuality of our students. It was wonderful to see the smiles, squeals of delight and pride on the children's faces as they showed their parents, grandparents and siblings their work. And what a bonus it was to have Costa join us on the Friday night after visiting the school that afternoon. He was so generous in his time (and Facebook live video). You can't pay for that sort of publicity!

The anticipation of the Colour Run has certainly been a hit with the students - with two goals being met and two teachers being slimed already - Gen and Shan you go above and beyond. We are so close to our target of $5000 that I am getting ready for my turn. An incentive will be shared with students tomorrow to see if we can reach this target before the date of the run - Monday 16th December.

A reminder that Friday 6th December is a pupil free day where staff will continue planning for 2025 - and how exciting it looks with 14 Foundation students and 4 classrooms. I will confirm with Uniting Care if they will be available on the day to run a program to support working parent who may need care for that day.

Uniting Outside School Hours Care have been a fabulous asset to our school this year providing care for our working parents who need it. If this is something you may need to use next year please register with them now as it helps them prepare with staffing etc. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact the school for more information.

Orientation Day is Tuesday 10th December. We will welcome our new Foundation students for the morning and give our current student an opportunity to spend time with their new teacher for 2025.

Last week we welcomed Aahn (Year 1) and his parents Sue and Ash to St Joseph's community. We hope you love our school as much as we do.

Sarah is busy in the office preparing all the necessary paperwork for student numbers for the the end of the year/new year.  If you are intending to leave St Joseph's and attend a different school in 2025 could you please let her know to assist her with her work.

Finally I can share some great news that Maddie Ginn, who many of you may know from Nagambie kindergarten, will be joining our team next year as a Learning Support Officer. Maddie will work 2 days a week and has years of experience in early childcare. She is also  currently studying to become a teacher. What a great asset she will be to our already amazing team! I know you will welcome her with open arms!

Have a wonderful week everyone.

Take care and stay safe,

Maree
