Latest GPA Bronze and Silver Awards
It was a great pleasure to recognise and celebrate our latest Bronze GPA recipients at the whole-school assembly on 29th November. A Second wave of awards will also be presented on the 29th November. Congratulations to these students for reaching such a significant milestone! Their achievement reflects the exceptional character and consistent effort they demonstrate in upholding our school values: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be a Learner.
The Bronze and Silver GPA Awards celebrate students who consistently maintain high standards of learning behaviour. Each month, teachers complete progress reports assessing students’ performance against our school values.
- The Bronze GPA Award is presented to students who achieve "GPA All-Star!" status—the highest level of achievement—on 30 or more occasions.
- The Silver GPA Award is given after students reach this milestone on 40 occasions.
These awards highlight the dedication, strong work ethic, and continual pursuit of excellence shown by these students. I am incredibly proud to say they are part of our Trafalgar Primary School community.

Staffing Update
Trafalgar Primary School is excited to welcome two new staff members to our team for 2025: Michael Beamish and Fiona Morrison. Both bring a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, and unique talents to our school community. We are thrilled to have them join us and look forward to the positive contributions they will make to our students and school culture.
To help you get to know them better, Michael and Fiona have shared a little about themselves:
Welcome Mr Beamish!
My name is Michael Beamish, and I am thrilled to be at Trafalgar Primary School in 2025. I have worked in many industries and professions before discovering my passion as an educator, and I think being a teacher is the best by far! My hobbies include camping in our caravan, hiking, riding, reading, music, games, programming/coding, robotics, catching up with friends and being challenged as a student of the universe! I absolutely love playing the guitar and singing songs, so there will be plenty of opportunities to join in if you know the words. Feel free to introduce yourself if you see me about campus. See you in 2025!
Regards,
Mr Beamish!
Welcome Miss Morrison!
Hello Trafalgar Primary School Community, My name is Miss Fiona Morrison, and I am excited to join your school in 2025 as part of the teaching team. Having grown up in Thorpdale, I feel a deep connection to this region and its vibrant communities. Before beginning my teaching career, I gained valuable life experience working in the potato industry and as a pool lifeguard, where I developed a strong work ethic, teamwork skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse situations. I then transitioned into education, starting as a casual relief teacher in West Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley.
Over the years, my teaching career has taken me to diverse locations across Victoria and remote New South Wales. Beyond the classroom, I have had the privilege of working as a Parent and Community Engagement Coordinator and a Youth Services Officer within the Aboriginal community of East Gippsland. These roles allowed me to collaborate closely with families and young people, fostering meaningful connections and promoting positive outcomes.
I am also an active member of the Lions Club of Trafalgar, where I enjoy giving back to the local community through service projects and initiatives. This involvement reflects my passion for building strong, supportive networks that benefit the places we call home.
As I return to teach in my local area, I am eager to bring my experiences and enthusiasm to the classroom, fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students. I look forward to collaborating with the staff, students, and families at Trafalgar Primary School to create a successful and enriching year ahead.
Thank you for welcoming me to your school community—I can’t wait to get started!
Warm regards,
Miss Fiona Morrison
