🏀 South East Melbourne Phoenix Visit 🏀

On Tuesday, 19 November, Trafalgar Primary School was thrilled to host South East Melbourne Phoenix players Owen Foxwell and Angus Glover. The duo inspired our students with stories about their basketball journeys, sharing valuable lessons on teamwork, perseverance, and goal setting.

Students were captivated by their insights and had the exciting opportunity to ask questions, learn new skills, and get up close with professional athletes. Many students brought along their South East Melbourne Phoenix gear, which Owen and Angus generously signed, creating lasting memories.

A big thank you to Owen, Angus, and the South East Melbourne Phoenix for taking the time to visit our school and inspire the next generation!

🏏Grade F-2 Cricket Clinics🏏

This term, our Foundation to Grade 2 students are enjoying the excitement of learning cricket as part of our Sport and Physical Education program. Through a series of fun and engaging cricket clinics delivered in partnership with Cricket Victoria, students are developing their skills in batting, bowling, and fielding, while also learning the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.

These clinics have been a fantastic way to introduce our younger students to one of Australia’s favourite sports. We look forward to seeing their skills and confidence grow as they continue to participate in this program.

🎾Victorian State Hotshots Tennis Championships🎾

On Tuesday, 26 November, the Trafalgar Primary School Girls Hotshots Tennis team proudly represented our school at the Victorian State Hotshots Tennis Championships held at Kooyong Tennis Club. This incredible event brought together top teams from across Victoria to compete for the title of State Champions.

Qualifying for this prestigious championship is a remarkable achievement, showcasing the skill, teamwork, and dedication of our students. The team demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and gave their best effort on the court. Ultimately, they finished a remarkable 7th place, out of all the schools in Victoria, and made the entire school community proud of their achievement along the way.

Congratulations to our Girls Hotshots Tennis team on reaching this milestone—we celebrate your hard work and success!

🎾Grade 3-6 Tennis Clinics🎾

This term, as part of Trafalgar Primary School’s Sport and Physical Education program, our Grade 3-6 students have had the opportunity to develop their tennis skills. In partnership with G & S Tennis Academy and the Trafalgar Tennis Club, students have had the opportunity to participate in two 45-minute tennis clinics, held during their regular Sport class times.

Students walked to and from the Trafalgar Tennis Club, enjoying the chance to engage with this fantastic local facility. Many brought their own racquets, adding a personal touch to the experience, while others made great use of the equipment provided.

These clinics not only strengthened students' understanding of tennis but also helped foster connections with our local community. A huge thank you to G & S Tennis Academy and the Trafalgar Tennis Club for their support in delivering this enriching program!

Please see the flyer below if your child is interested in continuing their tennis journey outside of school hours.
