Main Campus - Year 4

Welcome to Week 8! 

With only 1 week until we are on camp, Year 4 students are busy getting ready for their Phillip Island adventure. Just a reminder that you will need to arrive at school between 6.40am and 6.50am next Wednesday 4th of December. Final reminders, including medication forms, will be sent home on Monday. Students will need to take their broad brimmed school hat with them on camp. 

It was wonderful to see so many Year 4 students at the Carlsruhe Fair last Saturday. Fabulous singing and performing, including opening the fair with the Carlsruhe song! A massive thank you to all the parents who were on the Fair committee and to those who volunteered on the day. It was wonderful to be able to share our special space with so many people on the day!

This term, 4SM and 4LS have had a great time during Thursday Activities - a highlight of the week for many! We are so appreciative of all the parents and grandparents who have helped this term, without you all Thursday Activities would not be the success it is! A big thank you to Sue, Victoria and Krista who helped every week! This term we have rotated through cooking, Jeannie Baker collage making, butterfly suncatchers, using microscopes, gardening and making terrariums.

In Literacy, we have been looking at Jeannie Baker books, creating meaning and looking at the powerful messages conveyed through the stories. Some of our favourites are Window, Belonging and the Story of Rosy Dock. In Maths, we have been learning about Symmetry, Measurement and Angles. In preparation for the end of the school year, students have also had to complete a number of different assessment tasks. It is a fabulous opportunity to reflect with the students on how much they have learnt this year and the challenges they have faced. Amazing work everyone! 

And finally, a great hairdo for last week’s crazy hair and mustache day!
