2025 Student Diary Art Winners

Thank you to all ELC 4 to Year 5 students who submitted ‘Under The Sea’ entries to the 2025 Student Diary Competition.  The standard was exceptional.  Our staff judges had their work cut out to select two winners for the Prep to Year 3 and Year 4 - 6 diaries.

Congratulations to the following students.

  • Lucy Cameron and Arthur Adamson (Prep to year 3 Diaries)
  • Elsie Dyer and Livvy Bell (Year 4 to Year 6 Diaries)

We look forward to viewing these fantastic artists’ work on the front and back cover of next year’s student diaries.

Nativity Service

Tuesday’s Junior School Nativity service was a beautiful reminder of the simplicity and significance of the Christmas story.  Watching our ELC 4 to Year 2 students bring this important narrative to life through their acting, singing, and storytelling was heartwarming and inspiring. Their enthusiasm and sincerity brought fresh meaning to the age-old tale of hope, humility, and love.  The full Uniting Church highlighted the wonderful sense of community the service fosters. Well done to all participating students and, to Mrs. Weilbaecher, Mrs. Gordon, Ms. Werner, Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Callinan, Mrs. Alexander, Mrs. Milich and Mrs. Christie.

Blessing of the Pets

Back by popular demand, Blessing of the Pets was held on Friday 22 November.  We were blessed with wonderful weather and well-behaved pets.  Rev. Peter Cook did a fabulous job of blessing our pets and instilling the important values of care, love and companionship.  Thank you to the parents who attended and helped safely transport the pets home at the conclusion of the service.

Semester Two Reports

2024 has been a huge year of change in reporting at the Junior School.  We have smoothly moved to Continuous Reporting.  I welcome parent reflection and feedback on this change. As a staff, we are always looking to improve and refine our practice. The Semester Two Junior School Reports will be released on Friday 6 December. In line with Semester One, these summative reports will include a Personal Development comment from class teachers, assessment gradings in Literacy, Numeracy, Inquiry and specialist subjects plus written comments from learning support teachers for students accessing enhancement and enrichments lessons.  A reminder that this year we have moved to the online format for reports. These can be viewed in PAM (Parental Access Module) in SIMON.

Cafeteria and Final Day of Term 4

The last day for lunch orders is Thursday, 5 December. On the final day of Term, Friday, 6 December, the Parents and Friends and Junior School will provide a free pizza lunch for ELC 4 to Year 6 students. Those with dietary requirements will be catered for.

St Mary's Christmas Street Parade

The St Mary’s Christmas Street Parade will be held on Friday, December 6 (the last day for students). The parade is a local celebration of Christmas. Local schools and clubs take part. The college invites all students ELC to Year 6 to take part. The parade will commence at 6pm outside Gray Street Primary School. Our theme is ‘A Touch of Christmas.’
