Year 4/5/6

Year 4/5/6 Canberra Excursion

Our school excursion was the highlight of the past fortnight. We joined with St Patricks Holbrook and St Josephs Culcairn to make the trek to Canberra. Once in Canberra we had an action packed three days. Amongst our destinations in Canberra were the Australian Mint, The War Memorial, Parliament House, The Canberra Zoo, Questacon and the Australian Institute of Sport.

The excursion was both extremely informative, with children getting to see the practical applications of what they have been learning about in HSIE as well as a lot  fun. Many children cited either Questacon or the Zoo as the highlights of the trip (aside from the TV on the bus).

Back in the classroom we are well on the way to completing the Lego League challenge. If you were to enter the room during these sessions you would be very impressed by the engagement of all students and their continuously improving ability to work together as a group to achieve each session’s challenge.

We hope to be able to invite families into the classroom once we reach the end of our challenge.
