What's been happening in Senior classrooms.

It has been a busy and exciting time in the Year 5/6 classrooms, filled with hands-on learning experiences and special activities!

Last week, our  Hands On Learning students had a fantastic day out fishing at Lake Boga. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this memorable event possible your efforts are greatly appreciated.

We were also thrilled to welcome our special Indonesian visitors into our classrooms this week. They introduced us to traditional Indonesian games, which the students thoroughly enjoyed, and supported us in letter-writing activities. Our students had the unique opportunity to respond to letters written by Indonesian students, fostering cross-cultural communication and friendship.

This week, the Hands On Learning students had the privilege of learning how to make fried rice with the guidance of our international visitors from Indonesia. Their expertise brought cultural depth to the experience, and it was wonderful to see our students engage in this culinary activity with enthusiasm and curiosity.

The Year 6 students are now preparing for their upcoming graduation, an important milestone in their schooling journey. A physical note regarding the details of the event has been sent home, and we encourage families to keep an eye out for further updates. We also ask Year 6 families to send in a baby photo and a Prep photo of their child (only if they didn't attend Swan Hill North in prep). These photos will be included in the graduation presentation, so please ensure they are sent in as soon as possible. You can send a digital copy into their classroom teacher via SeeSaw or a physical copy to be sent in with your child.

Meanwhile, our Year 5 students have started reflecting on the qualities of a school leader as they prepare their leadership speeches for next year. Students have taken their planning home, and we encourage families to support their child by discussing their ideas and vision for the school. Families will be invited to attend a special session in the coming weeks where they can listen to the speeches and celebrate the students’ efforts.

Looking ahead, our Year 5/6 students will commence their personal development sessions next week. These sessions are an essential part of our curriculum and focus on supporting students' well-being and growth as they prepare for the next stages of their educational journey.

With so much happening at the moment, we ask families to please check school socials regularly and monitor students’ bags for notes being sent home. Your support in staying informed is greatly appreciated as we work together to ensure a smooth and successful end of term for all our students.

Thank you for your continued involvement, and we look forward to sharing more of our student's achievements in the coming weeks!
