Parents Battle of the Bands - we want you!

Are you a parent/carer? And can you sing or play an instrument?

If yes, we want you!

At Windsor Primary we are always on the lookout for fun new ideas to connect our community and fundraise … and in 2025, we would like to enter a band into the

Parents Battle of the Bands.

The PBoB is a fantastic community event, free to enter, and through ticket sales to the performance night (called the ‘Battle’) we can raise some money for our school’s music program.

Once the band is formed, the timeline would look like this:

  • Dec: get the band together to meet and discuss songs / set list (set list may take a few weeks to decide on)
  • Jan – Feb: each band member learns their part
  • Feb-May: rehearse
  • May: perform

About Parents Battle of the Bands:

  • It is open to any school, free to enter
  • In 2024, 28 primary school parent bands participated, spread across 5 battles. Bands perform at one battle only.
  • At the battle, each band plays a 15/20min set.
  • The performance date is sometime between May and August
  • Winners compete at the final at the Corner Hotel in September
  • The event raises funds for each participating school (after event costs, ~80% of ticket sales go back to each school – to work out how much each school gets, when you buy a ticket, you select the school you are supporting)
  • In addition to fundraising for music programs in school, it connects the community, builds mental health in parents, and reinvigorates the live music scene!
