And that's a wrap for 2024! As we wind down for the year, it's important to take the time to reflect on all the amazing learning that has happened in our classrooms this year. We are so incredibly proud of the effort all students have put into their work and the growth they have made across the year. Thank you to families for working in collaboration with us to support your child's learning. We wish all our amazing students a well-deserved, fun and relaxing holiday break!
Here's a look at what we've been up to as we finish off a very busy and highly productive term!
Reading: In our reading sessions we completed our novel study on R.J Palacio's 'Wonder' and followed this up with watching the movie adaptation and comparing the two.
Writing: In writing, students have been putting the finishing touches on their comics to add to their portfolios.
Maths: Students have continued to be challenged to solve a range of multi-step worded problems.
Humanities: We are finishing off our Geography unit by researching sustainability practices and understanding the difference between renewable and non-renewable resources.
Students participated in the Reach for the Stars program run by VSSEC and had a great time putting the skills they have developed in STEAM sessions to good use! Students got to work on their coding skills as they programmed robots to move to different locations and their design skills as they created and launched bottle rockets. They didn't quite reach space, but some of them went pretty far! Thank you to Miss White for organising this incursion for us - it was so much fun!
What a great way to finish off the term! It was awesome to see all students enjoying themselves as they participated in a range of fun activities. The pizza lunch and ice cream afterwards was also a hit!
