Dear School Community,
As we approach the end of an incredible year, I want to take a moment to reflect on all that we have achieved together in 2024. It has truly been a year of growth, learning, and community spirit.
Our students have shown remarkable progress, both academically and personally. From excelling in the classroom to showcasing their talents in sports, art, and music, they have made us all incredibly proud. This year, we saw record participation in extracurricular activities, and our students’ creativity and enthusiasm have been inspiring.
Our dedicated staff has been at the heart of these successes. Teachers have worked tirelessly to provide a nurturing environment, fostering a love for learning while helping each child reach their full potential. The support staff has also played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of daily activities, and their contributions have been invaluable.
We are deeply grateful to our parents, who have been steadfast partners in our journey. Your support, involvement, and trust in us have made a huge difference, and we couldn’t have achieved all of this without you. Together, we’ve built a strong foundation for the students to flourish, and your continued dedication to their education is truly appreciated.
As we look forward to the new year, let’s celebrate the achievements of 2024 and the wonderful community we’ve created. I am excited about the possibilities for 2025 and beyond, knowing that we will continue to inspire, support, and grow together.
Thank you once again to our students, parents, and staff for making this year so memorable. Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season and a bright start to the New Year!
State-Wide Transition Day
It was fantastic to see our students so engaged and enthusiastic about what lies ahead in 2025.
During Transition Day, students had the opportunity to meet their teachers for the upcoming year, building excitement and connections with the wonderful educators who will guide them on their learning journey next year. Our teachers took time to get to know the students in a relaxed, welcoming environment, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.
In addition to meeting their new teachers, students enjoyed a range of fun and enriching activities. The day was filled with exciting games, creative craft, and mindfulness activities, which allowed everyone to engage in something new and exciting while developing important skills for the year ahead.
Overall, Transition Day was a fantastic opportunity to build anticipation for 2025 and to help our students feel comfortable and confident as they step into the new school year. We look forward to the many adventures and achievements that 2025 will bring!
Thank you to everyone for making this event such a success, and we can’t wait to continue the journey with your children in the new year!
Building Works Update
Exciting developments will be taking place at our school in Term 1, 2025! Our school is set to receive the addition of several new buildings and upgrades that will enhance the learning environment for all our students.
We will be welcoming a brand-new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) building. Alongside this, we will have a new Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) space, ensuring a safe and enriching environment for our students before and after school.
A new Administration building will improve access for our school community, and a Multi-purpose space will provide a flexible area for a variety of activities and events. We’re also excited to be upgrading our toilet facilities, ensuring comfort and accessibility for all students.
In addition to these fantastic developments, we are expanding our staff carpark, making it easier for our team to park and serve the school community.
These upgrades will not only enhance our school’s physical environment but also support our commitment to providing the best possible education for all our students. We look forward to sharing these exciting changes with you in 2025!
Prep Parent Information Sessions 2025
We are delighted to have recently held our Parent Information Session for families of our 2025 Prep students. It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers attending, eager to learn more about the exciting year ahead for their little ones.

Year 3 and 4 STEAM Incursion
We had the fantastic opportunity to have the Victorian Space Science Education Centre come to OPS for 'Reach for the Stars' and 'Tickle my Droid'. Students loved pretending to code each other as robots and then programming Sphero robots to go around the Mars map. In Reach for the Stars, they designed, built and launched rockets, with some launching all the way across the oval!
Kaboom Kids
Kaboom Kids visited our school recently, bringing a fantastic day of sports and active play for all our students! The children had an absolute blast participating in a wide variety of engaging activities, from team games to fun challenges that encouraged teamwork, coordination, and a lot of laughter.
It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as our students embraced the opportunity to try new sports and enjoy physical activity in a fun and inclusive way. A big thank you to Kaboom Kids for making this event such a memorable experience for everyone!
We’re looking forward to more opportunities for our students to get active and have fun together in the future!
