Sale Show Interschool Competition
By Emily L
On Friday 1st November I travelled to the Sale Showgrounds to represent Trafalgar Primary School at the Regional Interschool Show Horse Competition for Years 4&5.
I rode my family's new pony Roddy, a Welsh A Gelding, whose full stud name is Arcadian Light the Way. A little fact about Roddy is that Dr. Harry Cooper from TV bred Roddy and owns the Arcadian Welsh Pony Stud in NSW and we were lucky enough to buy Roddy from Dr. Harry.
On the day I competed in a number of events, they were.
- Best Presented Horse & Rider - I placed 3rd in this event.
- Best Activity Pony - I placed 1st in this event.
- Best Handler - I placed 1st in this event.
- Best Show Pony Mount - I placed 3rd in this event.
- Best Rider - I placed 4th in this event.
For each event you scored 3 points for a win, 2 points for second and 1 point for 3rd.
Overall, I ended up with 8 points for the day and came Runner-up in the Year 4 & 5 section for the day.
I have been lucky enough to qualify for the state finals in the Interschool Show horse section to be held in April 2025 at Boneo Park.
Outstanding Efforts at the Gippsland Regional Finals
Congratulations to our Girls Softball and Girls Volleyball teams for their impressive performances at the recent Gippsland Regional Finals! Our Girls Softball team faced some exceptionally strong opponents, including last year’s State Champions, and put in a wonderful effort, finishing the day with 1 win and 2 losses. We’re incredibly proud of their hard work and determination.
Meanwhile, our Girls Volleyball team also competed fiercely, finishing with 1 win and 1 loss. Final placements came down to the percentage of sets won, and we’re thrilled to announce that they finished as Runners Up for the Gippsland Finals! This accomplishment earned them a new pennant for our trophy cabinet—a fantastic achievement for our school. Go, Trafalgar!

Instrumental concert
The instrumental concert is on the following week - Thursday 12th December in the gym.
- This concert is a celebration of our instrumental music program, and the hard work the instrumental music students put in with their teachers.
- The concert is for students who pay for instrumental lessons with one of our instrumental teachers.
- If your child is ready and willing to perform, your instrumental teacher will contact via email and send home an invitation form with the details of the concert.

Environmental Team Tree and Shrub Planting
The Environmental Team, kindly assisted by Daryl, recently planted a selection of trees and shrubs generously donated by a friend of one of our staff members. This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to further beautify our school grounds and create a more sustainable environment.
By planting native trees and shrubs, we aim to enhance the natural beauty of our school and support local biodiversity. We are excited to continue these efforts and encourage everyone to join us in our commitment to caring for our planet.
