Making Music 

On November 1st, ten very enthusiastic and dedicated students in Grade 2-6 participated in Marimba Mania 2024. This yearly event involves students from many schools coming together to play ten songs they have been practising throughout the year. The sound of hundreds of students playing their marimbas and xylophones together was incredible! 

Mr Westwood even had a go and learned one song on the day! 

These large-scale events are never without their challenges. Our students showed great resilience, persistence and positive attitudes as we dealt with cold wind and rainy weather. They also worked together to move our instruments and gear several times throughout the setup and rehearsal process to accommodate the space needed for other schools. A quick side trip for a hot chocolate after the event was much appreciated by all!

We look forward to growing our participation in Marimba Mania in the years to come.
