Children’s Mission Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral

On Tuesday, 22 October, students from Grade 5 travelled to St Mary’s Cathedral to participate in a special Mass for Mission Week.

Mission Week is a week where schools in Catholic Education participate in various fundraising activities to raise funds for Catholic Mission. Students also learn about the ways Catholic Mission support those in need around the world, with this year’s focus on helping young people in Mongolia.

During the Mass Nash brought forward the gifts for Communion and Feuree and Barbara collected a special gift from Catholic Mission for our school, which is now on our prayer table just inside the office door. The rosary beads and the pouch were made by people living in Cambodia, where Catholic Mission does their good works. Thank you so much to the students who represented our school reverently and respectfully.

Crazy Sock Day & John Paul II Feast Day

The feast of Pope St John Paul II is a significant day in the life of our school.

It is a day to celebrate the man whom our school is named after, as well as celebrate our beautiful school community, coming together in both prayer and fun. Students enjoyed an afternoon of activities in Buddy groups competing for the coveted JPII Day Shield. It was a great afternoon with Topfer winning the shield, despite their team's numbers being low. A huge thanks to staff and students who helped organise and lead our celebrations for this special day. We also held a Crazy Sock Day fundraiser as part of our JPII Day celebrations. Students raised $130 to go towards the work of Catholic Mission. Many thanks to families for your kind donations.
