CLEVER CLASS

In library, the Kinders have been engaging in partner reading. They take turns being both the reader and the listener, beautifully sharing their stories. This collaboration allows them to express their ideas and interpretations of the books, fostering a supportive environment where each child could gain confidence in storytelling. The kinders showed patience, waiting calmly and negotiating which books to choose together. They practiced sitting knee to knee or elbow to elbow, ensuring each had equal access to the book, demonstrating their understanding of sharing space and resources.

Learning that has occurred: Engaging in partner reading helps children develop crucial communication and social skills. Within the framework of the Early Years Learning Framework, this activity aligns with Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity as it encourages them to interact with peers and develop a sense of belonging. It also supports the development of their confidence in expressing ideas and negotiating, critical skills for personal and social capabilities.
