Year 2 Newsletter

What an incredible term it has been for our Year 2 students! We had some amazing experiences, both inside and outside of the classroom, and we are thrilled to share some highlights with you.

Year 2 Sleepover at School

Our much-anticipated Year 2 sleepover was a huge success! The students enjoyed a fun-filled evening starting with delicious pizza for dinner, followed by a cozy movie night. The next day was action-packed with a ‘Mini Olympics’ incursion, where students could participate in various activities, showcasing their teamwork and athletic skills. We wrapped up the event with a special doughnut-making party, which was a sweet and memorable way to end an exciting couple of days!

Classroom Learning Highlights

In English, our focus has been on exploring different types of writing. The students have been diving into poetry, learning how to express their thoughts creatively and experiment with rhyme and rhythm. We’ve also started working on persuasive letter writing, where students are learning how to present their ideas clearly and convincingly.

In Core Literacy, the spotlight has been on suffixes. The students have been learning how adding different endings like "-ed," "-ing," and "-er" can change the meaning of words and how these can be used in their writing.

Our Geography lessons have taken us on a journey around the world! The students have been exploring states, countries, continents, and oceans, developing a greater understanding of the world we live in and the different places people call home.

We are so proud of all the hard work and enthusiasm the Year 2 students have shown this term. Thank you for your continued support throughout the year.
