Principals Report

Hope is a central theme to the season of Advent and apparent throughout the next four weeks. It is a foundation for our belief that Jesus is coming into our hearts and the world. This first week of Advent prepares us to be people of hope, thereby creating a ripple effect of optimism and resilience.

Good afternoon parents and carers,

The term is very quickly slipping away from us.

Wonderful news today with the announcement of Jarrod Mullavey as the new Principal. Jarrod will be a wonderful asset to our school community.

Our Christmas Concert will take place this Friday at the MPB starting at 6pm.  Please arrive with your child at 5.30pm.  A wonderful night for our school community to come together, celebrate Christmas and showcase the wonderful artistic talents of our students.  I look forward to catching up with you all.

Thank you to everyone for visiting our book fair and the purchasing of books.  The rewards of the book fair enable us to update and purchase contemporary literature for our library, which is crucial in building our students' love of reading and to have access to books they enjoy.

Towards the end of third term an expression of interest was sent out to parents to be involved in Friends of Sacred Heart. The main purpose was to seek involvement of parents in providing opportunities for friends of the school community to interact and support the school. We are very grateful for the interest of everyone in being part of this group. Due to the change of principalship more information will come out next year.

Each year, our staff invests significant time and effort in organising classes for the upcoming year. This comprehensive process involves gathering valuable insights from previous teachers to ensure the best possible fit for all students. Factors such as work habits, special needs, friendships, and personality traits are thoughtfully considered when making group placements.

Our teachers are experienced professionals who understand that a balanced class structure is essential for the successful development of all students. While we appreciate the interest of parents in class placements, we hope you understand that our teachers are focused on creating well-balanced groups that consider the needs of every child. Having worked closely with the students, our teachers are aware of any potential conflicts and strive to mitigate these for the benefit of the entire class. We are grateful to the many parents who trust our educators' professional judgments and allow them to take the lead in this important process.

Have a great week

Arn
