STEAM Christmas Fun.

Christmas is celebrated in many different ways around the world. We are beginning to learn more about these traditions. 

Philippines

Maligayang Pasko means Merry Christmas in Tagalog.

During Christmas Eve evening, people go to church to hear the last 'simbang gabi' or the Christmas Eve Mass.  This is followed by a midnight feast, called Boche Buena.

Germany

Fröhliche Weihnachten  means Merry Christmas in German. People in Germany have been putting up Christmas trees for a very long time.  Christkind visits the children with a basket of gifts.

Scandinavia

A holiday act of kindness towards birds.

The Scandinavian countries have a beautiful tradition of encouraging the kind treatment of birds at Christmas time. They believe that if you spread birdseed outside your doorstep on Christmas morning, thus including the birds in the feasting that takes place inside your home, you will have good luck in the coming year.
