Christmas hamper donations
Junior School
This year, all Junior School classes will once again be putting together Christmas hampers to donate to St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies) and the Annie Kenney Young Women’s Refuge. These hampers will help spread Christmas cheer to those in need within our community.
The last day for collections will be Monday 9 December. The hampers will be presented to both agencies at the beginning of the Year 3-6 Spirit of Christmas Gathering on Wednesday 11 December.
Listed below are the suggested collection items for each year group:
- Kinder: Small gifts for children under 10, mostly books.
- Prep, Year 1 and Year 2: Items for babies and toddlers, such as wipes, soft toys, bath toys, storybooks and blankets.
- Years 3 and 4: Items for Annie Kenney, including cake mixes, snacks and toiletries (please avoid sanitary items).
- Years 5 and 6: Specialty food items for Christmas for Vinnies, such as puddings, tarts, and mince pies.
Senior School
This Christmas, more families are experiencing poverty and are on the brink of homelessness due to the relentless cost-of-living crisis. As a result, more people are calling on the St Vincent de Paul Society to provide lifelines and support in meeting basic needs.
Senior School students are invited to bring along a food hamper item in support of this year's Vinnies Appeal to help Hobart families needing a hand up this Christmas.
Pastoral Care rooms have been allocated different items to ensure a broad selection is received (please see the full list provided below), but families are welcome to contribute any non-perishable items.
To uphold the dignity of those receiving the hampers, please ensure that all food items are undamaged and not due to expire for at least six months.
Thank you for your support in helping those in need in our community.
