Meet our wonderful teachers...
Hello SMPS Families,
My name is Jess Hobbs. I have been teaching at SMPS since it opened 6 years ago. It is a pleasure to come to work every day and be immersed in the wonderful culture of SMPS.
I absolutely adore my Cockatiel named Rafa. He loves to play with his toys, munch on his bird food and tweet away at the sounds in the environment.
I enjoy going to the gym, reading books and eating lots of yummy food, especially pizza and anything made with Nutella! Sometimes, those two foods can be combined to make a delicious Nutella pizza!
I hope you have had a wonderful holiday and I look forward to seeing you all soon.
Hello SMPS community,
My name is Miss Shir Chi and I will be teaching Grade 2B in 2024. This will be my second-year teaching at SMPS. The start of my teaching journey with SMPS has been truly amazing because of the wonderful community members that surrounds and supports the school. This year will be the second time I am teaching in Year 2, and I am so excited to meet the new Year 2 cohort and their families. There are many exciting moments to come in Year 2!
I grew up in Malaysia with my parents and three sisters, until I moved to Melbourne in 2016 and this is where I stayed ever since. Before studying to become a teacher, I often volunteered at an after-school tutoring program – which is where I found my passion for teaching!
Outside of school, I enjoy curling up on my couch and reading or watching food-related TV series. I also love to eat, bake, play board games and visit new dessert places with my friends.
I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday and I look forward to starting another amazing year at SMPS!
Hello to all the SMPS children and their families.
My name is Niamh Crowley and I will be teaching 2C in 2024.
I’m from Ireland and I moved to Melbourne in late 2023. My sister has been living here for a year and she told me all about what an amazing country it is, so I had to come see for myself. And I’m very happy to report she was right!
I have been a primary school teacher for five years and I am lucky enough to say that I absolutely love my job. I am so excited to become a member of the SMPS community. I have been a casual relief teacher in the school since I arrived and I am so excited to be in the school full time for the new school year.
My favourite thing to do in the evening is read a good book, I love reading and am very passionate about literacy! I also love to run and swim in the sea.
I’m so exited for the new school year. I can’t wait to see you all. I hope you have had a lovely holiday and enjoyed the well deserved break!
