Year 9 Camp

In Week 6, our Year 9s travelled to Murramurang National Park for their Coastal Explorer Camp, about four and a half hours south of Sydney. The cohort was split into two groups that hiked nearly 30 kilometres along the coast over the course of the week. The students demonstrated significant resilience and strength as they navigated their way either north or south. Along the way, the students were treated to a number of exciting activities, including surfing, snorkeling, kayaking and swimming at a number of the beautiful South Coast Beaches. They also set up and camped at several idyllic spots, including South Durras, Pretty Beach, Depot Beach and Racecourse Beach where they shared the campground with kangaroos, possums and native birds. The students also learned about the local Aboriginal culture, including Murramarang National Park's significance to the local Indigenous people. The Indigenous immersion session also allowed the students to try bush tucker and traditional medical remedies and give weaving a go. At the end of the week, the students returned to school tired but full of stories from their South Coast adventure. We are grateful also to the teachers who accompanied the students.

Camp Feedback Survey

There are many learnings that have come from our 2023 program however, I would like to invite parents and caregivers to provide feedback about this year’s senior school camps. The following link will take you to a short survey: Camp Feedback Form. We are committed to continuous improvement to deliver a high-quality Outdoor Education program now and in the future, so your feedback is highly appreciated.

With the completion of the Year 9 Camp, our program for the year has now ended. We look forward to another fantastic year ahead in 2024!
