Year 8 Retreat

Galilee Retreat

The Year 8 Retreat, held on the 6-7 of November was quite beneficial for all of us. After a 30 minute bus ride, we arrived at the Swan River to not only take in the beauty of our surroundings, but also to imagine ourselves in Jesus’ shoes and pretend we were in Galilee. We then broke off into separate groups with our Year 11 leaders, where we played a few games and had a deeper discussion about a topic that a teacher had just talked about. We had recess and moved on to where another teacher told us a story after which  we broke off and talked about it with our Year 11 leaders again.

After lunch we did the same, before heading down to the beach. Our objective was to create a sandcastle or sand-structure that resembled something that we had learned that day. This Retreat made a significant amount of people appreciate what we have and to be grateful for the world that we currently live in.
