Vinnies Christmas Appeal
This is the last week of our annual Vinnies Christmas Appeal. All hamper items need to reach your son’s Form room by Wednesday 22 November. The hampers are being put together by our students on the Thursday.
Over the last year, the ongoing cost-of-living crisis has become increasingly dire. It's hitting many families and other vulnerable members of our community incredibly hard.
Many are experiencing poverty and struggling to keep a roof over their heads. As the crisis deepens, so does their desperation.
When a family is connected with Vinnies, our local volunteer members provide the immediate, emergency assistance they urgently need – from nutritious food to help feed their children, to everyday essentials such as clothes and school uniforms, and help with paying bills and rent so they can keep a roof over their heads.
By giving generously to the hampers this Christmas, you can help provide desperately needed food for many struggling families during this Christmas period.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
May your family experience the joy and blessings of Christmas this year.

Grandparents Mass 2023
It was wonderful to see such a large number of Mazenod grandparents at our annual Mass and morning tea. This is truly a special community event, when our College recognizes the wonderful relationships that exist between many of our boys and their grandparents.
Fr Joe Antony OMI celebrated the Mass and reflected on how important grandparents are in our lives, and how he was influenced by his grandparents to become an Oblate priest. Fr Joe recounted the love and special bond that he has with his grandparents, and how this connection has had a large positive impact on his life. He ended the Mass by giving the grandparents and the boys a special blessing:
God our heavenly Father, we give You thanks for the gift of our grandparents. We thank You for their love for us, for the time they spend with us and for the times they sacrifice themselves for us. Help us to appreciate how much we can learn from their wisdom and experiences of life.
Dear God, bless our grandparents: give them health, happiness and the joy of knowing that we love and treasure them.
Amen
Morning Mass
Week day Masses begin at 8:00am in the College Chapel. However, Wednesday morning Mass begins at 8:10am. These Masses are assigned to a group of students who are involved in their preparation and focus on a particular theme or feast day. Below is a table outlining this term’s Wednesday Masses to which everyone from the Mazenod community is extended a warm invitation to attend.

Year 8 Galilee Retreat
The Year 8 classes enjoyed two days on retreat at the beautiful Point Walter Reserve in Bicton in the middle of Term 4. Each class was on Retreat for a single day and was joined by a number of mentors from Year 11. Both days enjoyed sunny weather with temperatures in the mid-20s. It was perfect conditions to be out around the spectacular Swan River. The Year 8 and Year 11 boys really enjoyed being out in such a stunning environment for the day.
Galilee is a new Retreat program being trialed by our Year 8s this year. The Galilee Retreat is a one day meditation on the life, ministry and message of Jesus in Galilee. Unlike a day of recollection at a retreat centre, the Galilee Retreat is a practical experience and makes good use of our students’ imaginations. The students walked along the seaside - in the footsteps of Jesus - and imagined themselves in several scenes from Jesus' life in Galilee.
