To the SVC P&F,

On behalf of the Year 11 cohort, I would like to thank you for your donations to our new common room. These items, such as the coffee machines and foosball table, have helped make the space great for relaxing. The coffee machines have been constantly in use and have helped many of the boys get through the cold mornings we have had recently. As a year group, we recognise that your efforts often go unnoticed and would like to let you know that we acknowledge that behind the scenes work and appreciate all of what the P&F have done and continue to do to help make our College the great place it is.

Mark Waddington Memorial Award

In honour of St Virgil’s College Parents and Friends Association founder and long-term committee member, Mark Waddington, the Senior P&F committee commissioned the annual Mark Waddington Memorial Award. Congratulations to Charles Lennon who received this at the Thanksgiving & Award Evening last night.

The Senior P&F have also committed to provide funds to support the annual ‘Waddos Walk’ for Year 11 students as part of their Head Start Program transitioning to Year 12.

The multiple P&F events held across the junior and senior campuses would not be possible without the support of our amazing community, families and volunteers. A heartfelt thank you to the parents, friends, students and College staff for your time and efforts this year.

A special thank you to the valued executive and committee members for your ongoing dedication, friendship and support, and to Principal Mr Jon Franzin, Deputy Principal Mr Daniel Lapolla, Assistant Principal Religious Identity and Mission Mrs Kim Mooney, Head of Junior School Mrs Jo Messer and Marketing Manager Ms Shelley Medhurst for their continued assistance and guidance.

With the College welcoming Year 12 and Year 2 students next year, it is more important than ever for the Parents and Friends Association to progress and continue the significant and wonderful work they achieve each year.

The P&F is a fantastic forum to meet parents and friends, learn about the College and engage with staff and students.

Planning is well underway for 2024, and new parents and friends are warmly welcome to attend the first junior and senior general committee meetings in February, and the AGM in March 2024.
