Level 3

It’s been a wonderful few weeks in Level 3. We’ve been very busy completing assessments, researching information about countries and enjoying our walk to the Heathmont shops.

Literacy

In our reading lessons we have been learning about poetry, how to read with fluency and expression, as well as figuring out the meaning of words in their context. We have also been comparing different poems on the same topic this week.

We have been having a go at drafting and publishing a range of different poems such as Kennings poems, diamante poems and free verse poetry. The students have really been enjoying experimenting with their words.

Numeracy

Last week we practised adding amounts of money, calculating change and sticking to a given budget. All the Level 3 students enjoyed the walk in the beautiful sunshine to the Heathmont shops to practise our money skills in real life situations. All the students managed to stick to their given budgets and enjoyed picking out and eating their special lunch. Thank you so much to the parent helpers who came along to help us.

Inquiry

All the students have worked together to research and present a PowerPoint on a certain country. They enjoyed learning about the different climates, food, customs and traditions of some of our closest countries.
