Level 2

Level 2

We have started transitions to Level 3 – the end of the year is very close now!

Late Stay

The Level 2 students were so excited to stay at school all day from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm! The day started by creating class chants that were performed later that afternoon in front of the whole cohort. The students were very creative and enjoyed performing on the stage in the hall!

All classes rotated through a variety of activities including making a campfire, scavenger hunt, outdoor team skill-building games, and indoor ‘Minute to Win it’ games such as bottle flipping, solving puzzles and ‘Keepy Uppy’. Mr Corso cooked us a delicious lunch on the BBQ, we danced at ‘the disco’, and we finished the day with a performance by a quirky magician! We were all very tired by the end of the day!

LITERACY AND INQUIRY:

Level 2 students have begun creating a brochure, poster, podcast, or advertisement to encourage buyers to holiday in their chosen destination in Australia. This task requires knowledge of how to persuade an audience as well as an understanding of our inquiry topic this term. Students have used KWL charts (what they KNOW, what they WANT to know, and what they have LEARNT) to record information they will use for their persuasive piece. Students have enjoyed using laptops to research the answers to their wonderings about their chosen destination. We can’t wait to see the students final products!

NUMERACY:

This fortnight in Numeracy, Level 2 has been revising topics that were tricky to grasp throughout the year. Each individual class has identified what learning areas needed to be revisited and have done so according to the needs of the students. We have also spent some time looking at numeracy NAPLAN questions and discussed many different ways to check answers.
