Level 5

Level 5

Level 5 has been buzzing with activities over the past two weeks!

Writing:

Following our Week 6 camp experience, we dedicated a few writing sessions to compiling a comprehensive Camp Booklet, providing a reflective overview of the enriching activities. In recognition of our students' academic achievements, they are engaged in the thoughtful development of lesson plans. We look forward to an exciting twist next week as our students step into educators' shoes during the special "Teacher Takeover" unit! This fun initiative highlights our dedication to creating a lively and engaging learning environment for everyone involved.

Reading:

Level 5 students undertook a thrilling investigation into a mystery as part of our Reading unit. The Adventure Agents in Level 5 took on the challenge of solving "The Missing Mona Lisa" mystery, working diligently to uncover the identity of the art thief based on the provided evidence. With five suspects in the spotlight, students engaged in a process of elimination by reading emails, listening to interviews, and scrutinizing the provided clues. This unit sparked extensive reading and fruitful discussions, fostering a dynamic and immersive learning experience.

Maths:

In our recent math lessons, we delved into the concepts of volume and capacity, and the students acquired practical skills in calculating and converting these measurements. To enhance their understanding, we incorporated hands-on activities that allowed them to interact with real-world examples. Additionally, engaging methods such as fun games, including Kahoot, and interactive board games were employed to make the learning experience enjoyable and memorable.

Inquiry:

In Level 5, students are currently immersed in an exciting Inquiry unit where they are actively engaged in creating and marketing unique products. The students are passionately raising funds for the "Challenge - Supporting Kids with Cancer" charity by selling their products to F-2 students. This initiative not only allows them to apply their skills in a practical setting but also fosters a sense of empathy and social responsibility as they contribute to a cause that positively impacts the lives of others. Through this meaningful project, the Level 5 students are learning valuable life skills and making a tangible difference in their community
